I especially liked the air tub (jacuzzi) in our room; very good. Also, although the bathroom is very tight, the shower is one of the best. The shower head varies with different settings that are percussive to gentle - excellent. The hotel is older but clean. Many extras - a barbeque on Sat. Night, free breakfast, and other freebies were special and very cool. I also like that the location is far enough from the madness of busy Newport but close enough to drive in and enjoy it. Also liked how close it is to beaches and also to a Catholic church - handy.
Well this may be petty but the televisions need to be upgraded - and I know that must be a huge expense.

- Close to Newport
- Carpentry nails on the floor of our room - outlets did not work - no trash can in room - rude/unprofessional staff - not enough parking - not worth the extravagant price tag

I had a feeling from the other reviews that the "Newport Inn and Spa" would be a disappointment-- and boy was it. I don't mind getting what I pay for, but I paid $250 for one night in a room I should have spent $50 a night on. From holes in our walls, light fixtures that didn't work, a shower drain that didn't drain, and frankly the decor looked as though it was last replaced 15-20 years ago---bedding and all! If its any indication, We slept with large hooded sweatshirts on and showered with flip-flops on because the place was so questionable! There was no up-and- running gym facility, the free breakfast was a joke. I gathered from signs posted that they are undergoing renovations which I can appreciate but I would like to get what I pay for -- it's not my fault you are in the process of refurbishing- so why does my vacation need to pay for it?! Huge disappointment, waste of money- I regret having booked at all and really wish I could get my money and my experience back.

It had an opening during a busy season in Newport and the cost, while high, was not exorbitant. The breakfast buffet was above par for these sorts of hotels. The room was quiet.
When we arrived, around 9:30pm, the desk staff at first could not find our reservation and then took awhile to determine that yes, in fact, I had pre-paid. They then could not give us the room requested (2 queens), basically said wouldn't a king be good enough. It was, but still this felt a bit awkward. It didn't help that a family was at reception at the same time arguing about the dirty pillowcases in their room.

Spacious rooms with comfy beds and hot tubs 🛁. Delicious breakfast with lots of options to choose from.

Not always pleasant people at reception. Free Wifi but not available everywhere and not in our so-called "deluxe" room where the jacuzzi did not work the 1rst evening. Stated free shuttle to downtown on internet but real cost was $5 per person. Stated check out time 12 on internet but was 11.

Decent breakfast
Room seemed dingy, not well kept. There were mystery sticky spots on the nightstand, the chain lock on the door was missing, one of the mattresses had a dip in the middle.

The location of the hotel was marvelous, close to the beach and near restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, and downtown Newport. the room was bright and modern, with climate control, multi-channel television, and a fridge.

My family and my sister's family just traveled there this week with a 2, 3, 6 & 9 yr old, booked last minute, they gave us easy to find adjoining rooms. Yeah, the place could use some updating, but the rooms were very clean, and nothing was broken in ours. There were no gross odors anywhere like other reviews. The beds & ( pillows too ) were super comfy. The ac worked great, showers were hot and the staff was very helpful & pleasant!! The pool was clean, tons of pool toys, clean towels provided and kids had a blast! Breakfast choices were kids yogurt, 3 different cereals, pop-tarts, cereal bars, danish, breads, muffins, scrambled eggs w/ ham, coffee and juice station. We never felt unsafe. Location was great to many restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream, shopping plaza's, beaches and downtown area. Overall for the price, it was a great kid friendly place and we def. Planning on staying there again!!!
